Typically, our 1099 contractors can expect to be credentialed with most insurances within your first month. Note that there are sometimes delays in credentialing due to insurance company backlogs that we can’t control.

You can opt out of being in network with any of our insurance network partners at any time. Unless you opt out, we will submit credentialing applications on your behalf to the following carriers/plans based upon the states in which you’re licensed. With the exception of Anthem BCBS and BCBS of MA, you must also reside in the insurance coverage state to be credentialed with Blue plans.

Bear in mind that being able to accept clients after being credentialed is not always the same as when you can begin seeing clients – we’re talking Kaiser (SoCal) here. For example, Kaiser (SoCal) typically has a delay of at least 2 weeks after credentialing to give you access to their Lucet system training. Once you receive and complete the training, you must submit an affidavit verifying completion and then await their granting of access to the Lucet system to enter your availability for intakes.

Also be aware that being credentialed and able to start seeing client is not always the same as when the insurance will start paying you – payment delays are typical with the Blues and Kaiser (NorCal) where we’ve sometimes seen as much as a 2 month difference between date credentialed and date payments can first be expected to be received. For example, if credentialing completes 8/30/2024, you can start seeing clients with that insurance as of 8/30/2024. But, let’s say that insurance isn’t scheduled to pay until 10/29/2024, – then you’ll receive payment for sessions for those clients that were billed from 8/30/2024 – 10/15/2024 on your 11/8/2024 direct deposit.

All communication about credentialing status and payment dates will be available to you in your billing portals so that you can make the best financial decisions for your practice based upon your goals.

Though it is rare, insurance rates may increase, or more rarely, decrease. You will be notified in writing via email of any upcoming rate changes as we become aware of them. Always, it is our goal to serve you in ways that set you up for financial success!
