Ham Nest Bake

I’m spending some time this week playing with recipes from my grandmas and mom…

Tonight we scarfed this cheesy deliciousness (altered from a Gramma Millie recipe for Hashbrown Ham Quiche). 🥔🧀

We all loved it!

My husband says he can eat this 4 days a week. It’s his new favorite food.

I initially served this dish with my Honey Vanilla Rainbow Fruit Salad. 🍓🍍

Ham Nest Bake Recipe

  1. Preheat oven to 425 F.
  2. Grease a 9″ round baking dish with 2 tsp melted butter then set aside.
  3. Press moisture from hash browns. I like to spread them out on paper towels and use more paper towels to press down for this step.
  4. Add pressed hash browns to baking dish and press into a pie shell shape (even on bottom and running up sides of dish).
  5. Drizzle remaining 3 1/3 Tbsp melted butter over hash brown crust.
  6. Bake 20-25 mins until edges of hash brown crust are browning.
  7. In a large bowl, combine 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese, and 1 cup diced cooked ham. Keep this bowl around – you’ll need it again before washing!
  8. Fill baked hash brown crust with cheese and ham mixture, spreading evenly.
  9. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  10. In same large bowl, beat 2 eggs, 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream, and 1/4 tsp seasoned salt.
  11. Pour egg mixture evenly over cheese and ham mixture.
  12. Bake 20-25 mins, until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
  13. Remove from oven and allow to cool 10 mins before slicing/serving.
