Discovery Call Required for NEW Therapy Clients

As a new therapy client, you’ll first need* to schedule a 15-minute free online therapy Discovery Call prior to scheduling your intake and ongoing therapy appointments so that you can make sure your chosen clinician is a great fit for you.

Upon scheduling your Discovery Call, you will be required to enter your credit card information. A fee of $50.00 will be charged to your card if you don’t show up to your Discovery Call appointment within 10 minutes of the appointment start time. If the credit card on file is declined, a $25 fee will be assessed. Thank you for your understanding and for helping our practice run efficiently!

*Kaiser (SoCal) clients are referred directly by Kaiser so do not attend a Discovery Call before being scheduled by Kaiser for a Kaiser Assessment Intake session.

THERAPY FEES

Each clinician sets their own fee schedule for sessions. Please visit your chosen clinician’s profile to view their rates. Other fees that may be accrued by clients are detailed in our Informed Consent. You will sign this form before you engage in therapy services with your clinician.

Some Insurance Benefits

This includes HSA (health savings account) cards and FSA (flex savings account cards). However, HSA and FSA cards must have a Visa, Discover, MasterCard, or American Express logo on the card. When paying by credit card, the credit card must be in the Client’s name.

Your payments are processed online through your secure client portal in our electronic health records system, TheraNest.

Good Faith Estimate Notice
Private Pay clients have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.  For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Use Your Insurance Benefits!

IN-NETWORK BILLING

When you’ve been referred to us directly (instead of attending a Discovery Call) from an insurer with whom your clinician is contracted, we will bill your insurance directly for your therapy. You will be responsible for paying us, according to our Informed Consent, for any fees your insurance doesn’t cover.

ALMA CLIENT INSURANCE & EAP BILLING

When you schedule a Discovery Call to use an insurance we bill through Alma, we contract with Alma to have them bill your insurance or EAP directly for your therapy. You will be responsible for paying us, according to our Informed Consent, for any fees your insurance or EAP doesn’t cover. You can jump to our Alma profile to see we’re in-network with your insurer or EAP. Then, schedule a Discovery Call in Acuity.

HEADWAY CLIENT INSURANCE BILLING

When you schedule a Discovery Call to use an insurance we bill through Headway, we contract with Headway to have them bill your insurance directly for your therapy. You will be responsible for paying us, according to our Informed Consent, for any fees your insurance doesn’t cover. You can jump to our Headway profile to see if we’re in-network with your insurer. Then, schedule a Discovery Call in Acuity.

OUT-OF-NETWORK BILLING

While we many not accept your insurance directly, your insurance plan may have out-of-network benefits, which means that they will reimburse you for a portion of your session cost.

We’ve partnered with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network process automatically for you.

With Thrizer, you will only have to pay a copay for your sessions, instead of paying the full fee and waiting for reimbursements. This typically allows clients to save on average 70% upfront on sessions.

During the Discovery Call process, we’ll help you verify if you have out-of-network benefits and how much your copay would be by sending you an email from Thrizer to enter your information to check eligibility and reimbursement. Once you submit your information to Thrizer, you and your clinician will receive an email detailing eligibility and reimbursement.
