Clinical Trainer
Meet Your Consultant & Clinical Trainer
Danae Powers, MS, LMFT, MFT, IMFT, CMIP has provided clinical training and professional development support since 2012 for Marriage and Family Therapists, Clinical Social Workers, Professional Clinical Counselors, and Psychologists. In addition to more than 16 years as a practicing therapist, Danae brings experience in private practice ownership, clinical supervision, training, business management, and practice development.
Why Consultation?
Graduate school prepared me to sit with clients, understand clinical theory, and provide therapy. What it didn’t teach me was how to build a sustainable practice. I wanted a practice where I could both work with the clients I’m passionate about helping and be financially successful. And navigating the whole supervised experience, exam, and licensing process with BBS to even get to the point where I could open a private practice? Yeah, no help there.
Thankfully, I grew up working in a family of chiropractors in private practice. I also spent many years in hospitality management. These work experiences gave me the basic knowledge needed for the business side of practice. After finishing grad school, I completed additional college courses in accounting and business management.
I’ve been told that I’m a bit of a *rare bird* because I enjoy splitting my work about 50/50 between people vs. paperwork. I love numbers, organizing, planning, teaching, and clients! So, it was a natural fit for me to launch into training therapists as a Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Trainer, and Business Consultant while seeing clients in private practice.
I would love the opportunity to help you on your professional journey!
Because working with a clinical trainer who is a great fit for you is the most important part of professional development consultation, you will first attend a Therapist Professional Development Discovery Call before starting online professional development at Danae Powers MS LMFT.
Step 1: Schedule a Therapist Professional Development Discovery Call
A Therapist Professional Development Discovery Call is a brief, no-cost, no-pressure conversation designed to help us determine whether we’re a good fit to work together. During this call, you’ll have the opportunity to share what leads you to see consultation, ask questions about my approach, and learn what it might be like to work together.
We’ll discuss the concerns you’d like to address, your goals for consultation, whether my services are likely to meet your needs, and any practical questions you have about scheduling, fees, or the consultation process. I’ll also answer questions about my approach so you can make an informed decision about whether you’d like to move forward.
Because this is a discovery call—not a consultation session—we won’t begin to work through your professional development concerns during the call. Instead, the focus is on helping both of us determine whether we’re a good fit before scheduling an intake appointment.
If you are in need of a different day/time for scheduling a Discovery Call than what you see as available, please consider joining the Therapist Professional Development Discovery Call Wait List to request a different appointment day/time.
After scheduling, you’ll receive an email confirmation with the link to your Discovery Call appointment. Just click on the link in the email confirmation to attend your appointment at the scheduled time.
Step 2: Schedule a Professional Development Consultation Intake
If you are in need of a different day/time for scheduling an Intake than what you see as available, please consider joining the Therapist Professional Development Intake Wait List to request a different appointment day/time.
After scheduling, you’ll receive an email confirmation with the link to your Intake appointment.
Within 1 business day of scheduling your Intake, you’ll receive an email invitation to our confidential Client Portal where you’ll complete and submit your intake documents. You’ll need to submit your intake documents at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled Intake so that your coach is able to review them prior to your appointment.
Just click on the link in the email confirmation to attend your Intake appointment at the scheduled time. At your Intake appointment, you and your coach will start to plan for what coaching will look like, how often you’ll meet, and how you’ll know you’re ready to end coaching.
Step 3: Schedule Ongoing Professional Development Consultation Sessions
If you are in need of a different day/time for scheduling a session than what you see as available, please consider joining the Therapist Professional Development Consultation Session Wait List to request a different appointment day/time.
We highly recommend booking your upcoming professional development consultation sessions for the next 4 weeks at one time so that you can ensure grabbing the days/times you want as the schedule fills quickly.
After scheduling, you’ll receive an email confirmation with the link to your upcoming coaching sessions.
Just click on the link for each session in the email confirmation to attend at the scheduled time.
