Finding the right therapist is one of the most important parts of starting therapy. Before beginning online therapy with Danae Powers MS LMFT, you’ll have the opportunity to schedule a Therapy Discovery Call to ask questions, learn more about the process, and decide whether working together feels like the right fit.

How Often Will We Meet?

We will generally meet once weekly for the first 4-6 sessions. We’ll first establish our relationship and work to alleviate some of the most pressing issues you’re experiencing.

Individual Therapy
We will generally continue to meet weekly. As you accomplish your goals in treatment, sessions may be once every 2 to 4 weeks until we end therapy. This titration is designed for you to have opportunities to practice your skills outside of therapy.

Couple or Conjoint Therapy
We will generally continue to meet every 1 to 2 weeks for the bulk of your therapy. As you accomplish your goals in treatment, sessions may be once every 3 to 4 weeks until we end therapy. This eventual spacing out of sessions is designed for you to have opportunities to practice your skills learned in therapy.

How Long Does Therapy Last?

Ideally, therapy ends when you’ve met your therapy goals that we set in the beginning. However, you may choose to end therapy at any time and for any reason.

Having attended any length of therapy, I welcome you to return for sessions as you need or desire. Sometimes we need a session as a:
• booster
• “Help me get me unstuck because I’m feeling overwhelmed.”

Fees, Payment, and Out-of-Network Benefits

Danae Powers MS LMFT is a private pay practice with out-of-network (OON) insurance support. Some clients may be able to use out-of-network benefits for reimbursement. Learn more about fees, payment options, and insurance reimbursement options here.

Step 1: Schedule a Therapy Discovery Call

A Therapy Discovery Call is a brief, no-cost, no-pressure conversation designed to help us determine whether we’re a good fit to work together. During this call, you’ll have the opportunity to share what brings you to therapy, ask questions about my approach, and learn what it might be like to work together.

We’ll discuss the concerns you’d like to address, your goals for therapy, whether my services are likely to meet your needs, and any practical questions you have about scheduling, fees, or the therapy process. I’ll also answer questions about my approach so you can make an informed decision about whether you’d like to move forward.

Because this is a consultation—not a therapy session—we won’t begin treatment or work through therapeutic concerns during the call. Instead, the focus is on helping both of us determine whether we’re a good fit before scheduling an intake appointment.

If you are in need of a different day/time for scheduling a Discovery Call than what you see as available, please consider joining the Therapy Discovery Call Wait List to request a different appointment day/time.

After scheduling, you’ll receive an email confirmation with the link to your Discovery Call appointment. Just click on the link in the email confirmation to attend your appointment at the scheduled time.

Step 2: Schedule a Therapy Intake

If you are in need of a different day/time for scheduling an Intake than what you see as available, please consider joining the Therapy Intake Wait List to request a different appointment day/time.

After scheduling, you’ll receive an email confirmation with the link to your Intake appointment.

Within 1 business day of scheduling your Intake, you’ll receive an email invitation to our confidential Client Portal where you’ll complete and submit your intake documents. You’ll need to submit your intake documents at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled Intake so that your clinician is able to review them prior to your appointment.

Just click on the link in the email confirmation to attend your Intake appointment at the scheduled time. At your Intake appointment, you and your clinician will start to plan for what therapy will look like, how often you’ll meet, and how you’ll know you’re ready to end therapy.

Step 3: Schedule Ongoing Therapy Sessions

If you are in need of a different day/time for scheduling a session than what you see as available, please consider joining the Therapy Session Wait List to request a different appointment day/time.

We highly recommend booking your upcoming therapy sessions for the next 4 weeks at one time so that you can ensure grabbing the days/times you want as the schedule fills quickly.

After scheduling, you’ll receive an email confirmation with the link to your upcoming therapy sessions.

Just click on the link for each session in the email confirmation to attend at the scheduled time. Please remember to only schedule sessions when you’ll be located where your clinician is legally allowed to practice.
